MTRI and the Atlantic Society of Fish and Wildlife Biologists (ASFWB) are pleased to announce that we have teamed up again to host a joint conference, which will serve as MTRI’s annual science conference and the 61st AGM for the ASFWB. This joint conference is held in partnership with the Nova Scotia Community College, the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, and Environment and Climate Change Canada with the intent to bring together biologists and related professionals, students, volunteers, and anyone interested in biological and conservation science in Atlantic Canada.  The conference will include a broad range of topics such as research, monitoring, management of species and habitats, species at risk, wildlife harvest, applications of old and new techniques, management of human-wildlife issues, conservation planning, stewardship programs and partnerships, watershed approaches to habitat conservation, ecosystem management and educational efforts. This year the conference is being held in the Kespukwitk (southwest Nova Scotia) Priority Place, presenting an opportunity for conservation partners to celebrate local conservation efforts as well as highlighting work across the Atlantic region.

The conference starts with an informal mixer on the evening of October 28th. Paper sessions are scheduled for October 29th and the morning of October 30th. A poster session is scheduled for late afternoon on October 29th.
